How to setup MS Office on your Desktop or Laptop?

Whether you purchase MS Office online, or from a store, in order to activate it you need to visit the activation link: office.com/setup and enter the assigned product key of your Office to verify it. You should have an active Microsoft account and a valid office setup product key to redeem or verify it. When you visit Office.com/setup you will get an option to create a new Microsoft account or to sign in with your existing one. If you had already entered a product key and looking for your software, in this case you will find a link: office.com/myaccount, with the help of this you can directly go to my account page for office installation and can also manage your subscription.

How to redeem MS Office product key?

Step 1: Visit the activation link www.office.com/setup and simply click on sign in if you already have a Microsoft account, if you don’t have, signup with a new one. After this you will be taken to Microsoft login page, where you have to enter your registered email id and password.

In case you are using any of these accounts - Outlook, Xbox Live, On Drive or Skype you can use the same login credentials to sign in. If ever you don’t  remember your login details, contact support to reset them.

Step 2: After logging in to Microsoft account you will be redirected to another Url: setup.office.com/home page to follow  next step, here you will get an option to click on "Next" or change account.

If you wish to change the login account just click on "change account" after which you will be taken back to Microsoft login page else choose to click "Next", after this you will find an option to enter your product key.

(Office setup product key: It is a combination of 25 alphanumeric characters which is printed on the back side of your product activation card or on your receipt (if purchased online) - Sample product key is given here, it appears as XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX). Now you may enter your MS office setup product key without using hyphens, following which choose your region or country where you banks such as "United States", "United Kingdom", "Australia", "Canada" etc (Please note : Kindly choose correct option because it can’t be changed later on). You may also choose your preferred language such as "English" etc and then click on "Next".

Step 3: You will get a message "Product Key Confirmed": In case you have entered the wrong product key, it will show you a message like "Sorry, we can't find this product key in our database." and below that Error code will be displaying: TOKEN_NOT_FOUND with its Correlation ID: 815ef240-0b24-4c58-ab3b-650d9681bdc7 along with the links to reinstall or download Office for Mac 2011, Office 2007, Office 2010, Office 2016 and product key redemption and download for Office 365 for Business. Contact for support if you an existing MS office user and need help.

Also, here you can get an option to enable auto renewal and can get information about your office subscription duration. You can also disable or enable auto renewal by setting "ON" or "OFF. You will also get a link to manage or cancel Microsoft office subscription and auto renewal from office.com/myaccount. Click  on "Next" after selection of desired option.

Step 4: If you choose the option of auto renewal, you will be asked to enter billing details like Credit card or Bank account or PayPal. After filling the details click on "Next".

Step 5: In the next step you will get an option to "Get your Office", Click on "Next". It means your MS Office Product Key is successfully redeemed and you will get option to install Microsoft office on your PC for both Mac or Windows, select whichever you need.
